The Medical Academy is a high quality development in conjunction with NUI Galway at Levels 7 and 8 of Sligo University Hospital comprising a Medical Education & Training Centre, a facility that reinforces Sligo University Hospital’s long term viability as a Regional Training Hospital. Visually the extension reads as a lightweight structure sitting atop the existing brick building. With façades comprised of large areas of glass and rainscreen cladding – the two storey extension introduces a new fenestration pattern and architectural style onto the hospital campus, whilst at the same time complimenting the hospitals distinctive brick colour tones in the colour of the new cladding panels.
