About
The brief for this project was to provide a vacated site for the new National Children’s Hospital on the site of St James’s Hospital in Dublin 8. This required the decant of a number of existing buildings on the site including: Pharmacy Distribution Unit with robotics system, the Food Distribution Unit, GSS Hub and IMS Server, NCHCD Laboratory and NPRO Building all simultaneously. This required an intrinsically detailed plan to be implemented to ensure that the hospital remained an Acute live campus throughout the works. The NPRO building involved the installation of large robotic equipment, completed on a live acute hospital campus in close proximity to the LUAS line on a site that also contained extensive underground electrical services. The project was delivered within strict time limits to facilitate the development of the National Children’s Hospital.
