About
A development of 22 A-rated housing units in the heart of the village of Ballisodare, Co. Sligo that required a two-part design strategy. Part one of this strategy involved responding to the edge of town condition, with the proposal creating an active streetscape through the creation of a stepped terrace of town houses that face the public street. This 3-storey brick façade is an urban response that creates a new streetscape in the village. Part two of the design strategy involved addressing the steep sloping site, with the semi-detached homes designed with a stepped section internally so that the homes respond to the existing site contours as much as possible. This results in an improved quality of outdoor spaces, both private and shared, for the residents to enjoy.
